Seekonk police were called out to a Reservoir Street home three separate times early Sunday as a Halloween party spiraled from a noise complaint into a firearms arrest, with officers say they ultimately found a man dressed as a green frog carrying a loaded Glock 30.
It Started With a Noise Complaint
The first call came in around 1:45 a.m. Sunday, when multiple units were dispatched to the Reservoir Street residence after neighbors reported a loud gathering, according to fallriverreporter.com. Officers arriving on scene found a large Halloween party underway, and the homeowner was cooperative, agreeing to try to bring the noise down, the outlet reports. At that point, police left the scene believing the matter was resolved.
That did not last. Police were dispatched again not long after officers had departed, this time for a reported physical disturbance at the same address, according to WJAR. The homeowner told police several of the people at the party were unknown to him and asked officers to help clear them out, per the station's report. Officers assisted with removing those individuals before leaving the scene a second time.
Third Call Brings a Firearm Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the residence for a third time after someone reported a man brandishing a firearm, the station's report notes. Responding officers identified the suspect as a man wearing a green frog costume. A search turned up a loaded Glock 30, and officers took the man into custody.
Police identified him as 23-year-old Isaiah Q. Gonsalves of Central Falls, Rhode Island. He was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, improper storage of a firearm, and possessing ammunition without an FID card, per the same account from fallriverreporter.com.
What the Charges Could Mean
Under Massachusetts law, the statute governing unlicensed carrying contains a built-in exception for anyone who holds a valid license to carry firearms — language found in Chapter 269, Section 10 of the Massachusetts General Laws.
Police say the incident remains under investigation, with the possibility of additional charges still on the table. No further details on an arraignment or court date were included in the reporting.
