A 40-year-old Sierra Vista man wanted in connection with a violent assault at a local poke restaurant surrendered to police after a new domestic violence report led officers to a residence where he was located. Jared C. Brown gave himself up without further incident once officers set up a perimeter and prepared to seek a search warrant, according to police.
Police investigated a report of a violent confrontation involving Brown and his former girlfriend, along with an alleged violation of an order of protection, according to Herald/Review. Officers tracked Brown to a residence and established a perimeter as they prepared to seek a search warrant. Brown came outside on his own and was taken into custody without additional trouble, the Sierra Vista Police Department reported.
The domestic incident involved a violent confrontation. Brown was arrested in connection with the report.
The Poke Bar Assault
Brown was also wanted in connection with an assault at Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar on East Fry Boulevard, according to the same report from the station.
Police said those outstanding warrants included two counts of aggravated assault involving serious physical injury, four counts involving disfigurement, two counts involving victim restraint, and four counts of disorderly conduct. A separate person faces a charge of harboring a fugitive for allegedly sheltering Brown, though police have not identified that individual or said whether they have been arrested.
Court Appearances
Brown attended hearings by video on a Monday in connection with earlier assault cases. The judge ordered Brown to appear in person at his next court appearance.
Brown had earlier assault cases.
Customer's Family Seeks Help With Recovery
The family of the man injured at Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar identified him as Alex and started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover surgery, therapy and living costs.
A separate report from kgun9.com described the arrest of a 35-year-old Sierra Vista resident also named Jared Brown in connection with an Oct. 3 shooting, though that report does not establish whether he is the same Jared C. Brown wanted in the domestic violence and restaurant assault cases.
