Skidmore College’s fifth annual Skidmania is scheduled for Nov. 6 and 7 at Arthur Zankel Music Center. The Department of Music lists a 7:15 p.m. call time and an 8 p.m. start for each performance. The Daily Gazette reported that Friday’s show had sold out.
Students will perform music from 1976, and the faculty house band, the Skidmaniacs, is set to play the finales, according to the college’s Department of Music. Student vocalists were invited to audition for featured solo parts.
A concert tied to Skidmore Cares
Skidmania became a fundraising partner for Skidmore Cares in 2010, according to Skidmore College. The college reports that Skidmore Cares has raised more than $225,000 and collected more than 86,000 food, school-supply and personal-care items for Saratoga County nonprofits since 2006. The Daily Gazette reported that proceeds from the weekend’s concerts go to area charity organizations.
