Tickets just went on sale for the Skirball Cultural Center's annual Hanukkah Festival, set for Sunday, December 6, from noon until around sunset at 5 o'clock. The daylong celebration at the Sepulveda Boulevard museum promises music, storytelling, art-making and a community candle lighting to mark the holiday.

According to NBC Los Angeles, tickets just became available for the 2026 celebration, with general admission priced at $23, seniors and full-time students at $18, and children ages 2 to 17 at $16. The outlet also confirmed the event's noon start and roughly 5 p.m. conclusion, timed to coincide with sunset.

Those prices mark an increase from last year's festival, which charged $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors and students, and $13 for children, according to a Skirball Cultural Center 2025 press release. That event took place on Sunday, December 14, 2025, also running from noon to 5 p.m.

Live Klezmer and Hands-On Activities

Los Angeles klezmer band Mostly Kosher is booked to perform at this year's festival, bringing live music to the celebration, per the Skirball Cultural Center. The museum's event listing describes a program built around music, storytelling, food, art-making and a community candle lighting.

The Skirball's description of the festival also points to a Light Lab and Shadow Story corner, a chance to help build a miniature City of Light, and a Dreidel Lounge for games. As the sun sets, the museum says, guests can take part in a community candle lighting ceremony — a moment that anchored last year's schedule as well, when the 2025 press release listed the ceremony at 4:30 p.m.

Food, Exhibits and Fine Print

Hanukkah staples are part of the draw. Last year's festival served fried potato pancakes, or latkes, including a Mexican-style version topped with mole sauce, crema and queso fresca, per the 2025 press release from the Skirball Cultural Center.

Ticketholders this year will also have access to the museum's exhibitions, including the newly opened Inventing America: The Comic Book Revolution, according to the Skirball's event page. The museum notes that children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the festival.

Advance tickets for the Hanukkah Festival have been known to sell out before the event, and the Skirball says that when they do, a limited number of walk-up tickets will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis. With the 2026 date set for December 6 and tickets freshly on sale, families hoping to attend may want to lock in their spots sooner rather than later.
