A new Sprouts Farmers Market is headed for the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and Rosamond Drive in Anna, with construction on the $4.94 million grocery project slated to begin December 7. The store is expected to cover more than 23,000 square feet once finished, part of a wave of retail development reshaping the fast-growing Collin County city.

The project appears in a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, according to Yahoo News, which reported the store will anchor a site at that busy U.S. 75 crossing and is targeted for completion by September 24, 2027. The City of Anna also announced the new location, noting the chain is known for fresh produce, organic foods, and healthy lifestyle products. A TDLR search-result listing for the project, numbered TABS2026005427, shows a registration date of November 7, 2025, though that entry carries lower confidence than the other reported details.

Sprouts' arrival comes as Anna's population has exploded in recent years. The city has grown from roughly 17,000 residents in 2020 to more than 38,000 today, the same report notes, and city officials say Anna is projected to grow at 13 times the national average rate over the next decade, according to a story from Audacy. That surge is mirrored across Collin County as a whole, where the population grew about 12% between 2020 and 2023 to nearly 1.2 million residents, per the VirtualBX development report.

A Grocery Chain Expanding Fast Across North Texas

Sprouts is hardly a stranger to the Dallas-Fort Worth market. The chain has already opened more than 20 grocery stores across the region, with several more multimillion-dollar locations in the pipeline, the Yahoo report states. Collin County alone is already home to six Sprouts stores spread across Allen, Frisco, Murphy, Plano, and two locations in McKinney, the same account notes.

Another Sprouts location is also under development in nearby Prosper, with construction there aiming to wrap up in March 2027, roughly six months before the Anna store's own target completion date. Together, the two projects point to Sprouts betting heavily on continued rooftop growth along the U.S. 75 corridor north of Dallas.

Big-Box Neighbors Already Taking Shape Nearby

The Sprouts site won't be isolated. Just up the road, Rosamond Town Center is rising as a 355,826-square-foot open-air retail center at Rosamond Parkway and U.S. Highway 75, with tenants reported to include Academy Sports + Outdoors, Aldi, Burlington, EOS Fitness, Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, PetSmart, and T.J. Maxx, according to the VirtualBX account of the groundbreaking.

Adjacent to that project, Rosamond Crossing is under construction as a 175,300-square-foot retail center anchored by Kroger, the same report notes. Combined, Rosamond Town Center and Rosamond Crossing are expected to add roughly 750,000 square feet of retail and commercial space to the area, underscoring just how much commercial activity is converging on this stretch of highway as Anna's population keeps climbing.
