Police rushed to a Circle K at 750 Steels Corners Road in Stow around 3:30 a.m. Monday after a robbery crew smashed the storefront with a stolen minivan, dislodged the ATM inside, and found themselves staring down an armed clerk who opened fire as they moved toward the store.
According to FOX 8 News, the suspects arrived in two stolen minivans, with one of them reversing at high speed into the glass entryway twice, shattering it and knocking the ATM loose from inside the store. As the group closed in, the clerk, who was armed, fired seven shots at them, prompting the suspects to flee, per cleveland.com.
Gunfire Left Marks on Pumps and a Getaway Vehicle
The same report notes that rounds fired by the clerk struck a gas pump, one of the suspect vehicles, and a support post for the canopy covering the pumps. Police said they do not know whether any of the suspects who escaped were injured in the exchange, the outlet reports.
Officers caught up with one suspect, 25-year-old Peirion D. Jackson was charged with second-degree felony robbery along with fourth-degree felony counts of receiving stolen property and vandalism, the station reports.
Three Others Still at Large in Second Stolen Minivan

A magistrate set Jackson's bond at $100,000 cash, and he was transferred to the Summit County Jail following his arrest, per cleveland.com's report.
