Sublime is coming back to Red Rocks Amphitheatre for two nights next spring, with the band set to play the Morrison venue on Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18, 2027. The run marks a celebration of the 35th anniversary of the band's debut studio album, 40 Oz. to Freedom, and general ticket sales begin Friday, November 6, 2026.
As Westword reports, a presale through AXS.com opens Wednesday, November 4, at 10 a.m. for fans looking to beat the rush. Per themusicuniverse.com, the April 17 show will feature 40 Oz. to Freedom performed in full, a record Westword notes is expected to include fan favorite “Santeria.”
The second night's set list is a little less settled depending on who's reporting it. Themusicuniverse.com says April 18 will feature Sublime's self-titled 1996 album performed in full, while spinmagazine.com describes that night as devoted to the self-titled record alongside additional favorites from the catalog, without specifying a full album performance. Either way, fans can expect a heavy dose of the band's most beloved material across the two nights.
A Band Carrying On After Tragedy
Sublime is led these days by Jakob Nowell, the son of late frontman Bradley Nowell, who died of a heroin overdose in 1996. The current lineup also includes original members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh, and the trio released Until the Sun Explodes in 2026 — described by the same report as the band's first new record in three decades.
That album has been more than just a nostalgia play on the radio. The title track held the No. 1 spot on both the Mediabase Alternative radio chart and the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart for three consecutive weeks, according to the outlet, which also notes that Sublime scored two No. 1 radio hits: the 2025 single “Ensenada” and “Until the Sun Explodes.”
Red Rocks Demand Remains High
Sublime isn't new to selling out the iconic Morrison venue. The band's two Red Rocks shows in 2026 reportedly sold out in less than a week, the same source notes, suggesting next April's shows could move just as fast once tickets go live Friday.
There's also some history behind this particular anniversary framing. A separate report from news.pollstar.com had previously described a different pair of Red Rocks shows built around the 30th anniversary of Sublime's self-titled album, with that version pairing a full album performance on April 17 with a career-spanning set on April 18 — and tickets for that earlier run were set to go on sale November 14, per the same report. The 35th-anniversary framing for 40 Oz. to Freedom now attached to the 2027 dates reflects the latest plans as described by themusicuniverse.com and spinmagazine.com.
Beyond the chart numbers, the self-titled album's commercial legacy looms large over these shows. The 1996 self-titled record was certified Diamond by the RIAA, recognizing more than 10 million units sold in the U.S. — a landmark achievement for a band that's spent three decades cementing its place in the Southern California ska-punk canon.
