Providence is starting Sunday, November 1, with a clear, chilly morning near 34 degrees, but the city will warm quickly under full sunshine. The afternoon should top out around 59, making for an easy day for errands, walks, and leftover Halloween candy triage.
Sunny Sunday Follows A Cold Start
Temperatures are expected to climb through the 40s during the morning and reach the upper 50s this afternoon. The NWS aviation forecast calls for WSW/SW winds around 5–10 knots, so the day should feel comfortable rather than blustery, and there is no rain in the forecast.
The National Weather Service says Sunday night will remain clear, with a low near 40 and light southwest winds. No watches, warnings, or advisories are posted for Rhode Island, so outdoor plans can proceed without a weather-related plot twist.
Providence Gets An Early November Warm-Up
Monday turns notably milder, with sunshine and a high near 68, followed by a partly cloudy low around 45. Tuesday should be mostly sunny and near 68 again, while Wednesday may reach 70 under mostly sunny skies.
That warm stretch is a substantial update from Hoodline's earlier Providence forecast last week, which focused on the weekend chill and frost concerns. The latest outlook now keeps the city dry and unusually mild through most of Thursday.
Rain Chances Return Thursday Night
Thursday should stay warm, near 71, with a slight chance of rain. The rain risk rises Thursday night, when there is a 40% chance of precipitation and a low near 57.
The NWS gives a 40–60% probability of at least 0.5 inch of precipitation over 24 hours from Friday through Saturday. Saturday also looks wet at times, though partial sunshine may break through and temperatures should still reach about 63.
After a long dry stretch, the next meaningful soaking rain may finally arrive late in the week. The National Weather Service discussion notes that the region has not seen an appreciable wetting rain since October 16, making Friday's forecast worth keeping in mind for commutes, outdoor plans, and anyone who has been waiting for an excuse to find the umbrella.
