A weak cold front is moving south across Florida this morning. Saturday will be sunny, with a high of 82 degrees, according to the National Weather Service’s Tampa forecast.
The front is expected to pass mostly without rain, with high pressure building behind it. The National Weather Service also notes that patchy fog can form along the boundary, particularly inland, before the cooler, drier air settles in. Forecasters’ discussion of the front describes the transition across the Tampa Bay region.
Patchy fog could develop early Saturday, especially inland, before lifting later in the morning. The National Weather Service Tampa Bay page lists no watches, warnings or advisories for Florida or Gulf waters.
Sunny Weekend Brings Cooler Nights
Saturday night should turn mostly clear, with temperatures falling to around 62 degrees. Sunday will be sunny with a high of 81, followed by a Monday high of 83, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Tampa.
The outlook keeps Tuesday mostly sunny near 81. Veterans Day, Wednesday, is forecast to be partly sunny with a high around 77 and a 20% chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service’s Tampa forecast.
Midweek Showers Possible
Isolated showers are possible Wednesday, Veterans Day, with a 20% chance; the chance remains 20% Wednesday night and Thursday. Thursday is forecast to be mostly cloudy with a high near 76. The National Weather Service forecast puts the higher shower chance later Thursday night.
The dry stretch follows a period of substantial recent rainfall across the region. In its Nov. 5 drought statement, the National Weather Service said conditions had improved considerably, with no severe drought remaining and only a small area still in moderate drought. The agency’s regional drought update puts the midweek shower chances in the context of a broader recovery, though it does not guarantee rain in any particular Tampa neighborhood.
A front and showers are forecast late Thursday into Friday.
