Muskego Park is getting its own slice of The Tap Yard's heated winter igloo tradition, with reservable domes opening to guests beginning Nov. 27, 2026. The seasonal beer garden operator is also bringing its warm-weather setup to the park, marking Muskego's first turn hosting the popular pop-up after years of the concept rotating through other Waukesha County parks.

A Third Igloo Village Joins the Lineup

Muskego Park now joins Fox Brook Park in Brookfield and Menomonee Park in Menomonee Falls as one of three Tap Yard locations offering winter igloos this season, according to The Freeman. The Tap Yard operates beer gardens at those same three parks, plus Minooka Park in Waukesha, per the same report. Each igloo village has its own movie-themed decor this year: Muskego Park's domes carry a Home Alone theme, while the Menomonee Falls igloos lean into Home Alone 2 and the Brookfield domes go full National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Nick and April Marking, who run The Tap Yard, said they are excited to expand to Muskego Park and offer seasonal experiences that include both the winter igloos and summer days at the beer garden, per The Freeman's reporting. The couple also credited their partnership with Waukesha County Parks for helping the business grow and bring new experiences to the communities it serves, according to the same account.

County Lists Broader Seasonal Windows

Waukesha County's parks department separately describes The Tap Yard Beer Gardens as operating seasonally from May 1 through September 30, with reservable winter igloos available from the Friday after Thanksgiving through January and days and hours varying by park and season, according to Waukesha County. Reservations and additional details for Muskego and the other sites can be found through The Tap Yard's own booking site, www.thetapyards.com, per The Freeman.

The Muskego igloos will remain available for reservations through January, The Freeman reports. The expansion builds on a Tap Yard footprint that has grown steadily in recent years; a 2023 report from gmtoday.com noted the company had added locations at Menomonee Park and Minooka Park alongside its original Fox Brook Park beer garden, which that year ran Wednesday through Sunday from May 3 through September.

How Past Winter Domes Have Operated

Winter igloos in past seasons have followed a reservation-based, timed-entry format. According to OnMilwaukee, a prior round of six-person domes was available in 90-minute blocks Thursday through Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m., beginning Nov. 24 that year. The same report described The Tap Yard also bringing back domes to Fox Brook Park and adding a Menomonee Park location, while a separate Tap Yard site at Schlitz Park in Milwaukee planned to move indoors from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31.
