Thousand Oaks shoppers will get twice the time to browse this year as Holidays in the Village expands from a single Saturday into a full weekend, running Dec. 5 and 6 at The Oaks shopping center. The free event, now in its fifth year, will feature 60 artisan shops, European-style food and drink, and a new Christmas tree grove benefiting local charities.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at The Oaks, located at 350 W. Hillcrest Drive, according to holidaysinthevillage.org. Admission and parking are both free, and no tickets are required to attend. The event, hosted by the Rotary Club of Westlake Village, takes place in The Oaks' easternmost parking area near West Wilbur Road and West Thousand Oaks Boulevard, as reported by The Acorn.
Mike Dutra said Holidays in the Village offers gift shopping, food, drinks, entertainment and a community gathering, per the same Acorn report. This year marks the festival's fifth annual celebration in Thousand Oaks, and its shift from a one-day event to a two-day weekend celebration reflects its growing footprint in the Conejo Valley.
Sixty Shops, European Fare and a New Tree Grove
Visitors can browse 60 artisan shops for holiday gifts, according to Patch. The Festive Garden and La Place des Amis will serve European food including bratwurst, Italian pizza, German deli specialties, soft pretzels, French crepes, croissants and pastries, per The Acorn. Drinks on offer include Glühwein, hot cocoa, apple cider, mimosas and champagne, while Sugar & Spice will sell holiday candies and other confections.
A new addition this year is the Tannenbaum Christmas Tree Grove, set in the center of the marketplace and presented by the Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge. The grove will offer several varieties of Christmas trees for purchase, with trees available for pickup beginning Dec. 7, the day after the festival wraps up. The Elks tree lot is located at Carlson Building Materials, 1432 Thousand Oaks Blvd., and proceeds from the Christmas tree sale benefit local charities. The Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge #2477 separately lists the Christmas Tree Lot among its annual events alongside its Hoop Shoot, Charity Ball and ER's Grand Lodge Party, according to the Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge #2477. Carlson Building Materials has made part of its street-front property on Thousand Oaks Boulevard available for the lot, the lodge notes.
Kris Kringle Village and Weekend-Long Entertainment
Santa will appear at the Kris Kringle Village, which is slated to offer face painting, Art Trek holiday crafts, a holiday train and a Village Bear Scavenger Hunt, per Patch's event listing. Carolers and other strolling performers will move through the marketplace across both days, while the Festive Gardens Stage hosts local choirs, dancers, brass bands and school groups, according to holidaysinthevillage.org.
Overall, the festival offers European-inspired food, shopping and entertainment, and festival proceeds support local nonprofit organizations. Last year's event, held Dec. 6, 2025, at The Oaks, supported local nonprofits including Harbor House, YMCA, Art Trek, Many Mansions and Manna, according to the Rotary Club of Westlake Village. That 2025 marketplace featured artisan vendors, European holiday treats including Glühwein, family activities and live entertainment, and the club reported an estimated 13,000-plus attendees.
