Tipp City is getting its first Chipotle, and the burrito chain says the doors will open Monday, Nov. 9, at 952 W. Main St. It's one of two new Dayton-area restaurants the company plans to have running by the end of the year, with a second location taking shape in Miamisburg.

The Tipp City opening date comes straight from Dayton Daily News, which reports that Chipotle is set to open two new locations in the Dayton area by the end of the year. The Miamisburg restaurant doesn't yet have an announced opening date, though the outlet reports it remains on track to open sometime in 2026.

A Former Burger King Lot Gets New Life

The Tipp City restaurant is rising on the site of a former Burger King inside Tipp City Plaza. According to Woodard Development, Tipp City demolished the old Burger King building on May 6, 2025, clearing the way for construction as part of the plaza's broader revitalization. The new Chipotle will sit across the parking lot from Hot Head Burritos, putting two fast-casual burrito chains within walking distance of each other.

Construction progressed steadily through the year. The Tipp Gazette reported that the project broke ground in late April, and by August the building's interior was completely enclosed, with glass walls and doors installed. That same report noted the company was at one point targeting an October opening depending on how construction went, a timeline that has since been superseded by the confirmed Nov. 9 date. Miami County building permits filed in January showed Chipotle planned a 2,400-square-foot facility valued at $300,000, per Woodard Development.

Until now, Tipp City residents heading to Chipotle had to drive to nearby locations in Troy, Huber Heights or Vandalia, according to the Tipp Gazette.

Miamisburg Build-Out Underway, No Date Yet

Construction has also begun on the Miamisburg location, according to the city of Miamisburg, as reported by WHIO. Sources differ on the exact street address: Dayton Daily News lists the site as 235 N. Heincke Road in Miamisburg, while WHIO reports the restaurant is set to open at 225 North Heincke Road, next to the Kroger Marketplace.

Like its Tipp City counterpart, the Miamisburg restaurant will include a Chipotlane, the chain's drive-thru pickup lane, and WHIO reports it will also feature a new mobile ordering pickup window. Both features are designed to speed up to-go orders without requiring customers to step inside.

Both Locations Are Hiring Now

With openings approaching, Chipotle is staffing up at both restaurants. The Tipp City and Miamisburg locations are currently hiring for several positions, including kitchen leader, service leader and crew member, the Dayton Daily News report notes. A listing on Chipotle's own careers site confirms the company is recruiting a Service Leader specifically for the Miamisburg restaurant.

That Service Leader role comes with real responsibility attached. Per the job posting, the Service Leader is responsible for maintaining a positive customer experience by ensuring safe and quality food is prepared and served, and that the restaurant crew is well trained. The listing also touts tuition assistance covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 a year for workers who take the job.

For now, Tipp City diners have a firm date to circle on the calendar, while Miamisburg residents watching the Heincke Road construction site will have to wait for Chipotle to announce when its doors open.
