Truluck's plans to leave its longtime Uptown address at 2401 McKinney Ave. after serving the neighborhood since July 1998. The move will make way for a planned $1.3 billion tower for Morgan Stanley, while the restaurant plans to remain on McKinney Avenue at a new address.
The Dallas Business Journal reports that the tower is planned for Truluck's current site. The restaurant is expected to open at One Uptown, 2619 McKinney Ave., in early 2027, according to Dallas Voice.
One Uptown Is an Existing Building
One Uptown is not a building still under construction: structural engineer Sowlat lists the project as completed in 2016. Truluck's expected early-2027 opening there, noted above, is a planned restaurant move into the existing building.
The New Uptown Address
In remarks reported by Dallas Voice, Chris Davis, operating partner of Truluck's Dallas, said the restaurant plans to continue its Uptown presence at One Uptown. He invited guests to visit the current McKinney Avenue location throughout the holiday season before the move.
Dallas Voice reports that the new space is planned to include a central bar for happy hours and a nearby grand piano for live music.
Longtime Chef to Lead at the New Location
Executive chef Manny Vera, who has been part of the Truluck's team since 1998, will continue the restaurant's menu of longtime favorites.
The move shifts Truluck's a few blocks up McKinney Avenue, keeping the restaurant in Uptown while its current site makes way for the tower project.
