Two Bronx men have been charged as additional suspects in a January 2024 armed home invasion in Teaneck. Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Alexander Delacruz, 42, and Jerry Perez, 34, each face four counts of first-degree kidnapping and armed robbery, along with conspiracy to commit robbery, weapons offenses, armed burglary and two counts of aggravated assault, Daily Voice reported. The charges are allegations, not findings of guilt.

The Teaneck case is distinct from other armed home-invasion matters Bergen County prosecutors described in 2025. In Cliffside Park, prosecutors said masked suspects stole high-end purses during an armed burglary at a residence on May 9. In Lodi, prosecutors said masked assailants entered an apartment during a marijuana transaction on October 15. Those separate cases involved different locations and alleged circumstances; they do not establish a trend. The Cliffside Park and Lodi accounts were issued by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

What authorities allege in Teaneck

The Teaneck invasion took place on January 12, 2024, on East Tryon Avenue. Authorities said three masked men with handguns restrained two adults with zip ties; two other adults who arrived during the invasion were also held at gunpoint. One victim was struck with a hammer, and the intruders threatened to torture and kill one of two children in the home unless they received money, NJ.com reported. The men searched for cash they believed was hidden in the house, according to authorities.

The investigation had already led to charges against Brian Arias, Frank A. Salcedo and Francisco Sandoval in July 2024. Authorities accused the three, described at the time as Bronx residents, of tying up residents and beating them while ransacking the home, NJ.com reported.

Daily Voice reported that Delacruz was arrested in the Bronx on October 13 and extradited to New Jersey on October 27, and that Perez was arrested in the Bronx on November 4. At the time of that report, Delacruz was held at Bergen County Jail and Perez at Rikers Island pending extradition.
