Texas authorities are offering $6,000 for information leading to the arrest of a McLennan County man wanted on a robbery warrant and a parole-violation warrant. James Michael Jackson Jr., 29, was named the Texas Department of Public Safety's featured fugitive for November, with officials describing him as a repeat offender standing 5 feet 5 inches tall.
Who DPS Is Looking For
DPS identifies Jackson as wanted on a robbery warrant and a parole-violation warrant. His reported weight is 175 pounds, though a November 2 article from kixs.com puts his weight at 179 pounds — the two accounts don't agree on the figure. DPS describes Jackson as having a scar on the left side of his head, along with tattoos on his face, neck, upper left chest, and both calves, per the same Waco-area report.
The warrants behind the search stretch back to summer. Per kixs.com's reporting, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for Jackson's arrest on August 25 for the parole violation, and McLennan County issued a separate warrant on August 31 for robbery.
Reward Jumps to $6,000 for November Tips
DPS typically offers a reward for information on its featured fugitives, but the agency says that amount has been bumped up specifically for this case. The reward for information leading to Jackson's arrest is increased to $6,000 during November if the tip is received that month, according to dps.texas.gov. That limited-time boost gives anyone with knowledge of Jackson's whereabouts added incentive to come forward before the month is out.
Anyone with information can submit a tip without giving their name. Tips can be made anonymously online or by calling 1-800-252-8477. A web tip can be submitted through the DPS website using the link under the fugitive's picture; Facebook tips can be sent through the “SUBMIT A TIP” link under the About section.
