A 21-year-old Warsaw man has been indicted on three rape charges stemming from alleged incidents in the village of Dansville and the town of Livonia between February and July of this year. David Summers appeared before a judge last week to face one count of first-degree rape and two counts of third-degree rape.
Summers faces one count of first-degree rape, a Class B felony, along with two counts of third-degree rape, Class E felonies, according to Fingerlakes1.com. Livingston County District Attorney Ashley Williams announced the October 14 indictment in a release issued Wednesday, the outlet reported.
What the Indictment Alleges
The indictment accuses Summers of nonconsensual sexual contact involving forcible compulsion in the village of Dansville in July, per the same report. It also alleges a separate instance of nonconsensual sexual contact on February 21 in Dansville, and another on May 3 in the town of Livonia.
The Livingston County Sheriff's Office said its Criminal Investigations Division launched an investigation on August 14 into allegations that Summers sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman in May.
Court Appearance and Next Steps
Summers appeared before Judge Jennifer Noto on October 29, the outlet's report notes. No further case-status information, including a defense response or scheduling for additional proceedings, was included in the available reporting.
