Buffalo is getting one more almost-summer day before November reasserts itself. Early Wednesday started clear and near 57 degrees, while western New York is expected to reach the mid to upper 70s under partly sunny skies before rain returns tonight.
Warmth Holds Through The Afternoon
South winds will run around 10 to 20 mph as the city warms up, with dry weather expected through late afternoon. The National Weather Service says the high will land roughly 20 degrees above normal for early November, just shy of Buffalo’s Nov. 4 record of 74 degrees set in 2022.
Clouds will thicken toward evening, but outdoor plans should remain mostly rain-free for much of the daylight hours. Temperatures across western New York are expected to reach the mid to upper 70s.
Showers Arrive After Dark
Rain showers are expected after 7 p.m. Wednesday, with a 90% chance of precipitation and rainfall totals generally between a tenth and a quarter of an inch. The night will stay mild, with a low around 58 and winds gusting as high as 22 mph.
Thursday begins with a chance of showers before 10 a.m., followed by partly sunny skies and a high near 64. Southwest gusts of 25 to 35 mph are expected across much of the Niagara Frontier after the front, and no watches, warnings or advisories are currently posted.
Cooler, Showery Weekend Ahead
Friday brings more clouds, a 50% chance of showers and a high near 60, while rain showers become likely Friday night and Saturday. Saturday’s high is expected to reach only 53, with a 60% chance of showers and a low around 38 Saturday night.
Sunday should be partly sunny with a high near 54, followed by mostly sunny conditions and highs in the mid-50s Monday and Tuesday. After a notably dry stretch, the rain will offer some relief, but dry leaf litter and fine fuels remain a reason to use extra care with outdoor flames.
