Report: Roughly half of San Jose's homes are worth over $1M, the highest number in the nation — SF follows at #2
Real estate in San Francisco and San Jose ranked as the nation's top in terms highest share of million-dollar homes, according to a new report. Roughly half of San Jose's owner-occupied, single-family properties were valued over $1 million, per LendingTree.
San Jose City Government bought the historic Hayes Mansion for $2.5 million in 1985. It proceeded to amass a staggering $60 million debt associated with the real estate. This year, the last of the debt will be cleared, even adding $2.3 million to San Jose's general fund.
