The 2026 KIDS COUNT Data Book places Tennessee 37th overall — education scores improved, but child deaths, housing costs and uninsured rates rose.

A new 32,000-square-foot child-care center in Tacoma's Hilltop will add up to 300 spots and a 3,700-square-foot gym while expanding early-learning capacity.

Equally Created will open two early-learning centers in The Nations and Clifton this fall, adding about 220 seats and more sliding-scale care for Nashville families.
