The 4 Star Theater has been closed for nearly three whole years, but the scrappy little theater at Clement Street and 23rd Avenue will rise again this week, with movies plus pizza and bagels provided by nearby neighbor The Laundromat.

Ceramics studios are becoming trendy additions to the SF landscape — and the latest entry is in the Richmond District.

The popular Potrero Hill studio is offering a twist at its new location: the opportunity to work with wood, as well as clay.

Headliners include members of Big Brother & the Holding Company, Sly & the Family Stone, Santana, Jefferson Starship and more.

The mural depicts George Peabody, a noted philanthropist for which the school is named.

On February 16th, 1918, all the action was west of Twin Peaks.
