Protest BP Today at the Divisadero ARCO Station
We've heard of parklets as permanent sidewalk extensions and parklets as temporary art, but parklets as protest? This may be a first.

Aggressive Panhandler reports that today at 5:30pm, everybody's least favorite oily punching bag (BP) will be the target of a very green protest at the ARCO station on Divisadero and Fell. Organizers aim to demonstrate our collective fury at BP (and thus, their subsidiary ARCO), by creating a temporary green space at the station. According to the event's Facebook page, anyone fed up with BP is encouraged to bring "a potted plant, old tires, a tree, a bench- anything to ... turn a hostile place into a safe green pocket park." As of the time of this post, the event has 152 confirmed guests -- so this could definitely get interesting. Anyone out there planning on attending?
