Just because you're repeatedly stabbing a dead fruit with a childproof knife doesn't mean you can't enjoy a nice glass of malbec and a charcuterie plate while you do it.

This Sunday, Vinyl (at the corner of Oak and Divis) hosts a pumpkin carving night, where they'll be screening slasher flicks in the background while you're busy turning gourds into gorgeous. Need a design idea? How about Slutty Witch (pictured)? Or maybe Bristling Cat? Or that old standby, One-Toothed Smiler with Triangle Eyes? The only limit is your imagination -- and your inebriation! This party is strictly BYOP (bring your own pumpkin), and Vinyl will have a few knives on hand, but you might want to bring your own in case of shortages. The fun kicks off at 6pm Sunday.
