Hey, did you know there's a Bell Choir that rehearses every Thursday at the corner of Waller & Belvedere? We didn't either.
Every Thursday at the Waller Center at 7, Bell Appeal gets together and learns music - all kinds of music - for handbells. They perform shows, too, all over town and the East Bay. They've been at Night Life at the Academy of Sciences, they've done a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy show, a Summer of Love show... and they have some Holiday performances coming up. Neither are in the 'hood, but we'll tell you about them: Friday, December 14, 8:00pm Pacific School of Religion Chapel of the Great Commission 1798 Scenic Avenue, Berkeley Sunday, December 16, 2:30pm Bethany United Methodist Church 1270 Sanchez Street, San Francisco As for what to expect:

Our music this season features songs from the Goo Goo Dolls, fun., and Styx, as well as a sampling of more traditional carols to celebrate the season. We'd like to invite the community to help us "ring in the season," as it were. The concerts are free and light refreshments will be served. They often have open rehearsals, and you can contact them through their website if you have any interest in joining, or finding out more about them. They welcome musicians of all ages and skill levels. So, now you know! A Bell Choir.
