Side Project
Today, brave readers, because we know you're still on vacation and idle hands whatever whatever, we venture into the realm of do-it-yourself and home decoration. Buckle up!

Don't worry, it's easy. Go to the hardware store (Robert's or Cole) and pick up a handful of paperwhite narcissus bulbs. They're cheap and they almost always work. Find a jar, or a shallow bowl, or even a fishbowl. Fill it to 2 inches with gravel, soil or loose stone. You can even use your marble collection. Seat the bulbs down in the gravel and water to just below the surface of the stone. Keep it watered, and keep the bulbs in a bright, warm place. They won't look like much for a few days, but after a week or two they'll be exploding. They smell deliriously, overwhelmingly good, and they'll brighten the cold short December days until the annual January warm spell comes back.
