Wronged Upper Haighter Turns to Craigslist
We're sure this has happened to you, so we figured you'd want to know about it.

Some unlucky Upper Haighter was hit over on Waller between Clayton and Ashbury. She posted a Missed Connections ad on craigslist:
Our cars connected sometime Monday December 17th in the Haight ,on Waller between Clayton and Ashbury. You took a rather large paint sample but didn't leave one of your own . . . or a note . . . or your insurance information. You did however leave a rather large impression on my car. I'd like to get to know you (and your car) better. Would you like to share a cup of complimentary tea at an auto body shop sometime?
We emailed to find out more, and she told us that the Allstate representative she spoke to somewhere in the midwest was utterly unsurprised by her incident, and that he had even heard of Waller Street because he'd processed so many similar claims from that vicinity. Anyone see this go down? Also, it got us to thinking, city living is rough on cars. Have you been nailed while parked in the 'hood? If so, which intersection? Maybe we'll create a map to see if there's a Worst Place to Leave Your Car in the Upper Haight. Share your stories in the comments!
