SF Beer Week Hits Hayes ValleySF Beer Week
For those of you who are unfamiliar with SF Beer Week, it actually isn’t a week at all – and it isn't specific to our fair 49 square miles, either. It's a spectacular 10-day celebration, sprawling out over an entire swath of Northern California. From Half Moon Bay to Brentwood, and Santa Rosa to Monterey, we lucky Bay Area residents get to unabashedly revel in the joy of all things soaking in barley and hops. Hayeswire is here to give you the definitive guide to your local lager, pilsner, porter, pale ale, stout, and sour concoctions.

Two Sisters
Kicking things off tomorrow (February 9th) is Two Sisters Bar & Books located at 579 Hayes, just east of Laguna. From 4pm to midnight every day until the 17th, Two Sisters is featuring beers from Anderson Valley Brewing Company. Not only are the pours served classically, but they are also starring in several specialty cocktails mixed for the occasion. Bottoms up!
Nojo
Over at 231 Franklin, all week long you can enjoy Nojo's food pairings with San Francisco's own Pacific Brewing Laboratory. Known for striking and unique libations such as Squid Ink, an India Black Ale, and Nautilus (made with Hibiscus flowers), this experience is guaranteed to be a standout. They're open for dinner service 5:30-10pm every day except Tuesday, plus lunch/brunch Wednesday to Sunday.
Jardiniere
Jardiniere, located at 300 Gough, is hosting a one-night-only dinner on February 11th. For $49, you can partake in a 3-course prix-fixe dinner with beer pairings from Fifty Fifty Brewing, and California Craft. Keep in mind that reservations are recommended – this event lasts from 5:30-9:30pm.
Also on Monday the 11th, from 4-7pm Dobbs Ferry Bar is presenting the Goose Island Tap Takeover. Pouring eight delicious beers, you can check out all the brew details on their Facebook page. Their bar entrance is located at 409 Hayes, while their restaurant is just around the corner at 409 Gough. On the corner of Hayes and Laguna, Hayes Valley's German pride and joy is featuring a Schneider Bier inspired menu on February 13th. Beginning at 5pm, Suppenküche will crack open, among others, a rare brew called Aventinus Eisbock: Eisbock Barrique. At 12% ABV, this red wine barrel-aged nectar will make you more than grateful to live in a walkable neighborhood. There are only 120 bottles of it in the country, so if you consider yourself a seeker of exclusivity, get here early! Don’t forget that Hayes Valley is also the home to plenty of other beer purveying establishments. The Biergarten is open from 2-8pm from Wednesday to Saturday, and on Sundays from 1-7pm. You can find excellent beer selections in Place Pigalle, Hotel Biron, and The Grove - and Schulzies Bread Pudding is offering a special beer sauce for the week. Check out SF Beer Week's official site for an interactive map of all the events around the Bay. Feel free to clue us in on any Hayes Valley events that weren’t mentioned – and as always, enjoy Beer Week responsibly!
