Sonny & The Sunsets: Antennae to the Afterlife
San Francisco-based garage rock show Sonny & the Sunsets, in preview of their June release of Antennae to the Afterlife, play the Verdi Club tomorrow.

Sonny Smith and his Sunsets, known for the garagey, upbeat, lo-fi west coast rock we all know and love (dare we call it stoner beach jams?), is releasing the new Antennae to the Afterworld on June 11. And may we say, we're thrilled to hear it. Exhibit A:
The new album is a departure from Smith's previous work, a more synth-heavy, dreary alien escapade. The futuristic monotones and new landscapes are a pleasure, though, and it's refreshing to see the Sunsets move into fresh territory. Exhibit B: now hear this. They're playing the Verdi Club tomorrow as part of a local rock scene benefit for the Roxie Theatre. Tickets are $30.
