Just around the corner, the 11th annual Aids Walk Fundraiser kicks off this Saturday on Central between Page and Oak.
Here are the deets: Attend: 12 PM SATURDAY - Central between Page and Oak Give: a $20 minimum donation is requested for your grand entrance. More bucks the better, but no one will judge. The goodies are in the auctions, entertainment, company….and booze. Auctions: Silent and Live…damn good stuff, including area gift certificates, original art (the good kind), services, local wares that you actually want on your body and in your home. Why: This event benefits the AIDS WALK SF and PROJECT OPEN HAND. Your monetary donation upon entrance is lovely, but the experience, company and feeling of pride walking home at day’s end makes it awesome. Who: Riche and Marie (pictured above). Richie and Marie are locals who have been walking the walk for years. Richie lost both of his parents to AIDS, Marie lost some of her best friends to the illness. Plus, who doesn't want to show their neighborhood some sauce in the wake of a damn good week? We can’t wait to see you there. (Thanks to Anelia Luciow for the tip! And for getting the word out. Remember, you can always send us tips: tips[at]uppercasing[dot]com.)
