As you know, June is Pride month, and we've got two queer events in the Haight this Friday. We thought you might want to know about them.
First up, Dear Mammaries, presented by Femina Potens as part of the National Queer Arts Festival - an "interactive visual and performative dialogue between artists and their breasts." From their facebook page:

This powerful group exhibition features interactive sculptural and installation based works, as well intimate personal or anonymous letters written by artists, activists, makers, hackers, moms, breast cancer survivors and gender warriors. It starts at 6pm in the gallery space behind P-Kok. You can check out their facebook page for more details. Second, Booksmith is having a Bookswap on Friday from 6:30 to 10pm. It's queer-themed, and Michelle Tea & Ali Liebegott will be there to hang out. The idea is, you bring a (queer) book, you sit in small groups and eat (and drink) and talk, and the emcee switches you every 30 minutes or so, so you get to meet new people. The authors make the rounds and hang out with everyone. At the end, there's a big, rowdy, white elephant swap. $25 gets you dinner, an open bar, a closed bookstore all to yourself, intimate conversation, giveaways, and loads of fun. Tickets available here.
