Your Weekend Parks: Three Ways
Tea parties, cleanups and dropoffs. There's a lot going on in the parks this weekend. Read on.

Saturday's going to be a big day. First, there's a volunteer cleanup of Alvord Lake at 9AM Saturday. The event (here, for those of you who use Nextdoor) is being organized by Susan Strollis, who you can also email to RSVP at sstrollis comcast net. Help keep the park looking amazing! Then there's also, from 8AM to 12 noon this Saturday, a Department of Public Works hazardous and bulky waste dropoff at the Panhandle, on Baker between Oak and Fell. They'll be taking your green waste, shredding your embezzlement records for free (up to 2 boxes), and letting you leave big clunky stuff like mattresses and that damn Ikea chair you broke, as well as motor oil, batteries and light bulbs. AND THEN there's a mad hatter tea party (booze and other treats not included, although snacks are) at Oak and Ashbury in the Panhandle on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 5. Of course there's always the fourth way, which we also advocate: a beach towel and a bottle of wine.
