If there is one thing we have learned from running a neighborhood blog it is that there are passionate people who read our posts that have a lot to say.
Castro Biscuit Discussion Forums
In an effort to help turn some of this meaningful dialog into a full-fledged discussion (and perhaps action when appropriate), I thought it would be cool to setup a forum section on the website to discuss important topics and small news that might not make it to the Castro Biscuit front page. Topics like: organizing a reader meetup, talking about housing and the homeless, updates to your favorite restaurant menus, city-wide politics, discussions about upcoming events, photos of cool local art, and more. The possibilities are vast.
Some of these topics can even be spun into full blog posts that would be featured on the front page of the Castro Biscuit and shared with followers on Twitter and fans on Facebook.
For those not familiar with what a forum is, a forum is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages, sort of like a chat room. A forum can contain a number of subforums, each of which may have several topics. Within a forum's topic, each new discussion started is called a thread, and can be replied to by as many people as so wish.
We hope to create a townhall vibe to the forums where anyone can feel free to come and share their opinion, idea, or experience.
We've made it super easy to use and you can login with Facebook or Twitter or use an email address of your choice (just like the comments section) and create an account on this site.
We've also created a few forums to begin and posted a topic or two in each to get people started. We can add more forums as topics of major significance bubble up.
Check it out and let us know what you think.
