And now, three anecdotes of unsavory, unneighborly, and downright bizarre behavior from the Haighteration mailbag.

Jim writes in about some unfair ticketing in the Safeway parking lot:
"Apparently, the folks that run Safeway's parking lot are starting to ticket people that park in their lot and shop in any nearby store. That sounds reasonable, but, and this is key: it doesn't matter if you just shopped at Safeway, and no matter the amount you just dropped at Safeway. "I found this out because I apparently had the gumption to go get a taco salad at Castillito after spending ~$25 on basics at Safeway (at 9PM on a Sunday night... not that that necessarily matters). The rent-a-cop saw this and wanted to give me a warning for the future."

Kim shares two odd incidents at her home on Page Street:
"Two weeks ago, someone hit through our front gate and managed to leave a typed note asking us to contact him if we were interested in selling our home. Said he was reaching out to homeowners in the Lower Haight, hoping to buy. We ignored it, thought it was an odd approach to the real estate market. Never figured out how he got in the gate. "Then tonight, our buzzer rang at 8pm. I wasn't expecting anyone, so I ignored it. My husband came home from work right around then, was accosted by 2 women at our gate who asked him his name and occupation, said they were from an organization called Second Chances and that they were selling magazines. Very rehearsed spiel that made no sense . He said he wasn't interested and they left without stopping at our neighbors' houses."

And finally, Elizabeth has been exposed to an eyeful of something she doesn't want to see.
"Something creepy has been happening at 1060 or 1062 Oak, next to the car wash at Oak and Divis. The unit has a large picture window with drawn blinds, and there is a man inside who likes to wait for people to walk by, at which point he sticks his penis between the slats and wiggles it. "The first time this happened was a couple of months ago, and I thought it was an anomaly. However, it happened again this past Sunday, which makes me think he's doing it regularly. "What's extra unsettling is that he seems to wait until women walk by. I've stood to the side as men have passed- no peekaboo action. But if there's a woman walking by herself or with another woman, out comes his little friend."

Have you had any similarly disturbing experiences in the neighborhood lately? If so, let us know in the comments.
