The bash was first detailed by Secret San Francisco, which reported that the celebration will feature live music, a yacht rock lip-sync battle, an 80s-themed beauty bar, a vintage clothing market stocked with 1970s and 1980s apparel, and a mustache competition with categories for best homegrown and most creative entries. The Oyster Girls will shuck fresh oysters on-site, and Harrington's and Schroeder's will serve drinks and food to the crowd, according to the outlet's report. Wonder Bread 5 headlines the musical lineup, and the 1986 film Top Gun will play outdoors as the night winds down.

The block party series itself, branded Fridays on Front Street, brings together the Downtown SF Partnership — a community benefit district in the Financial District — and Bay Area concert promoter Noise Pop Industries, according to a Downtown SF Partnership planning document.
