On Monday, multiple readers alerted us to a yellow labrador named Bruce that was allegedly stolen from his dog walker's car at Haight and Steiner. A witness saw a car driving away from the scene, apparently with Bruce inside. The story has a happy but bizarre ending -- we're told that Bruce was found later that day by a bloodhound who tracked him to an apartment in Potrero Hill. Nobody seems to want to talk to us about exactly what happened here. Thus, leftovers. Chaparral, the evening pop-up restaurant at Kate's Kitchen, is expanding its service. Starting next week, they'll be open on Wednesday nights, in addition to the regular Thursday to Saturday routine.
