Signs Of The Times
A couple of signs have popped up in the neighborhood in recent days that shed a little light on current S.F. life, or at least a slice of it.

First, the ads above for Diet Coke. They were brought to our attention by friend of Haighteration Lauryn M., who spotted them at the corner of Haight and Divisadero. One reads: "YOU MOVED TO SAN FRANCISCO WITH A CROWD-FUNDED WEBSITE, A DAD-FUNDED HATCHBACK AND A NO-FUNDED BANK ACCOUNT. YOU'RE ON DIET COKE" Another says: "YOU MOVED TO SAN FRANCISCO WITH AN ENGINEERING DEGREE, AN APP IDEA AND AN INVESTOR NAMED NANA. YOU'RE ON DIET COKE" In what can't be a coincidence, the ads are situated directly across the street from a Google/Apple/Facebook shuttle pick-up point (also known as a Muni stop).
Meanwhile, 3 blocks east, a different sign has been posted on the door of Molotov's:
Roy M., editor of Castro Biscuit and also a friend of Haighteration, spotted this one last night:
It reads, "NO AUDIO or VIDEO RECORDING allowed OF ANY KIND ON PREMISES." This, of course, is in response to the recent unpleasantness. Molotov's owner Martin Kraenkel tells us it's been a "hectic few days." So there you have it -- an international brand tries to woo our local tech workers, while a small business asks them to show a little respect. Strange times, indeed.
