Great news, music fans: today is Record Store Day 2014, a celebration of those flat black discs and the local shops that sell them.

Up and down Haight Street, a number of record stores will be participating in today's festivities.  Here's what we know about, from Webster westward.

Rooky Ricardo's (442 Haight)
Owner Dick Vivian tells us the shop will have a lot of new inventory on hand, and plenty of records on sale.   There may also be wine and other drinks, depending on Dick's mood today.

Vinyl Dreams (593 Haight)
Mike and crew will be DJing all day long.  The shop will be open from 11am to 10pm, stocked with dance-centric Record Store Day exclusives, plus some UK items just for the day's festivities.

Groove Merchant (687 Haight)

Cool Chris has gathered an "epic pile of rare soul, rock, post punk, jazz, reggae, and Italian oddities."  He'll also be carrying some exclusives just for Record Store Day from various friends' record labels.  Plus, there will be Negro Modelos.

Jack's Record Cellar (254 Scott)
No word on whether Jack's is planning anything special today, but since the shop is typically only open on Saturday afternoons, it's worth venturing north a block to check out what's in stock.

Recycled Records (1377 Haight)
No special plans, but considering they're the most indie of the Upper Haight record stores, it seems worth popping in.

Rasputin (1672 Haight)
Rasputin tells us they'll be selling some limited edition releases, but they don't have any other major festivities planned.

Amoeba (1855 Haight)
Amoeba's got a lot going on: 20% off turntables, posters, and used DVDs, for starters. Also, they'll have live DJ sets from 11pm-6pm, featuring Joel Gion, Bobby McCole, DJ Primo, Andy Cabic, DJ Boom Bostic, Russell Guan, Ezana Edwards & Ryan Grubbs. They'll have a range of limited releases from artists such as Bastille, The Pixies, Nirvana, Nick Cave, Black Lips, Camera Obscura, Mazzy Star, and others. Finally, they'll be selling limited edition silkscreen prints from Free Gold Watch to benefit the SF Rock Project, a nonprofit music school that teaches rock music to Bay Area kids. Get in there.
