Happy weekend, Hoodliners! It's forecasted to be a whopping 70 degrees today, so shake off your hangovers and get out of the house. Here's a few things happening over the next few days.
  • 4505 Meats has released  a new version of their "'Kettle Cooked Style' Old Fashioned Chicharrones," which for the uninitiated consist of delicious pork rinds fried in lard. They're available at Bi-Rite, so swing on by to pick up a bag.
  • Noticed the kids playing with wooden toys outside San FranPsycho? They're playing “Kendama,” an ancient Japanese game, and are back in full force now that the weather's nicer. Here are more details on who they are and what they're playing.
  • As for World Cup viewing options in the neighborhood, keep an eye on Ziryab's Facebook page for news on when they're screening World Cup games (they've been opening up early to accommodate the competition's schedule). La Urbana will also be showing all the games in their Mercado Urbano, and will be extending their happy hour to 6:30pm. And though we're not positive, we suspect that Waziema will also be showing some games as well.
  • ThinkWalks' lineup is full of goodies this summer, so if you're interested in learning about local social justice murals, redwood anomalies, and the history of SF, check out their schedule. Joel will be bringing it back to our hood with his Wiggle walk on June 22nd.
  • Finally, Divisadero's next art walk is Thursday, June 26th. Mark your calendars! We'll be bringing you more information soon.
