It's set to be another hot one, Hardly Strictly is booming, and we're going to assume you've got your day planned. But just in case you'd like to look ahead, here are a few bits and pieces coming up to keep your social schedule full:
- Remember earlier this year when the first-ever NOW! Community Festival launched? The Panhandle and surrounding neighborhoods were filled with free yoga classes, flowers, beach cleanups, and live music. NOW! is coming back this fall, with the goal of running over 100 events during the week of November 16th. Have an idea? Want to get involved? Their next organization meeting is Monday October 6th at 7:30pm at The Center. More info here!
- Mark your calendars for Big Umbrella Studio's upcoming show Songs For Justice: Music In Picture. Featuring the work of photographers Daniel Maissan and Joshua Smith, the show highlights the work of musicians in Nairobi. The opening takes place on October 16th, and there will be refreshments and a live band. More details here.
- Madrone is installing a new window art piece, and it's part of the city-wide artist open studio event ArtSpan! Stop by to see it in progress. We'll bring you the full story on who's creating it and what it's about next week.
- Rare Device has a new show up by artist Dinah Fried, called Fictitious Dishes, covering her interpretations of famous literary meals. The show will be up from October 1st to November 2nd.
- Swing by La Urbana to try their new list of cocktails and celebrate their one-year anniversary. We're excited about the El Super Sabio, which has Suerte Reposado tequila, mezcal and house ancho chile coffee syrup.
- Last but not least, are you a commuter? SF Environment and SFMTA want to hear about it! Fill out a little survey here to help the city plan for the future.
