Upper Haight Odds & Ends: Coffee, Bikes, Music & More
By Camden Avery - Published on October 11, 2014.
It's been a big week for the Upper Haight, and getting bigger. Here's what's what.
First, in crime and mayhem, reports are circulating of a rash of bicycle muggings in the Panhandle, in which riders are attacked and thrown from their bikes. Police yesterday said they were working on the issue with plainclothes cops and after-dark coverage of the park:
Speaking of 1300 Haight St., you officially have until Sunday, October 12th to pick up any laundry and alterations at the soon-to-be-closed Lucky Cleaners.
This afternoon at 2pm, Amoeba is hosting a free show with From Indian Lakes at 1855 Haight Street. The shop is also offering 20% off all turntables and headphones tomorrow.
This afternoon also marks the return of the Urban Air Market in the Lower Haight. Head down the hill to Haight between Pierce and Fillmore from 11am to 6pm, if you're so inclined.
And finally, this weekend is also Fleet Week, so catch a sailor if you can and don't let the noise get you down.
Steady on, be safe.
