It's Friday, and for many of you, a three-day weekend is just around the corner. Here are some ideas for what to do in the Inner Sunset over the weekend, which culminates in Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 19th.

Saturday/Sunday

Visit the County Fair Building this weekend to pore over “the West Coast’s largest selection of antique paper items” at Hal Lutsky’s Vintage Paper Show. Running for more than 40 years, this expo gathers over a million postcards, photos, prints, pinups and other ephemera.

Admission is free and several dealers will be on hand offering “something in every price range.” The show is open on Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday from 11am to 5pm at the County Fair Building, 9th Ave. & Lincoln Way.

Saturday

If Friday night wasn’t too much fun, head to Golden Gate Park at 8am with a full water bottle to join a free ParXercise workout with host Joel and his assistants.

Gather in Mothers Meadow before taking a “rejuvenating jog through Golden Gate Park for a nice cardio workout,” according to the event description. Runners at all levels are welcome. Go to 501-599 MLK Drive at 8am and look for the ParXercise group. There’s no cost, but you’ll need to RSVP via Eventbrite.

Kezar Pizzetta (775 Frederick St) is hosting an art show by local collective Inks of Truth on Saturday from 4pm to 10pm. Attendees can interact with various installations and listen to live music while they browse and purchase art and photography.
The restaurant’s menu will be available throughout the showing; happy hour is from 4pm to 7pm. Free admission, but do RSVP.

Sunday

If you’re a woman who likes to bike, join She Spoke’s monthly Sunday coffee ride at 8:30am by the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. Held on the third Sunday of each month, Sunday’s “awesome female-empowered easy ride” will take its time exploring the lakes, trails and fields in the park before ending up at Flywheel Coffee on Stanyan in the Haight for hydration and conversation.

To reserve your spot, join the She Spoke Women’s Road Cycling Group meetup. Member dues are $10 per year.

Monday

At 7pm, Green Apple Books on the Park (1231 9th Ave.) is holding a release party for Lera Auerbach’s Excess of Being. Auerbach, a concert pianist, composer, poet and visual artist, will read from her new collection of poetry that “revitalizes the form of aphorisms,” or tersely stated truths.

Here’s an example of an aphorism: time is of the essence. So enjoy this holiday weekend.
