Once again, the N-Judah will be running shuttle buses this weekend between Church & Duboce and Ocean Beach due to Sunset Tunnel construction, but the forecast predicts temperatures in the high sixties and partly cloudy skies, perfect weather for walking around the Inner Sunset.

As always, there’s plenty to do: spruce up some public art, get your dance on with a hundred strangers, attend a classical concert, stock up on leafy greens at the Farmer’s Market, and more. Don’t forget to bring your shopping bags!

Bean Sprouts Family Day
This is the first weekend in 2015 for Bean Sprouts Family Days, an all-ages activity series in the San Francisco Botanical Garden (9th Ave. & Lincoln Way) that runs through October.

From noon to 3pm, families with children are invited to bring a picnic and “enjoy nature crafts, garden care, outdoor games and exploration in the Children's Garden.” Bean Sprouts Family Days is included with admission to SFBG, which is free for San Francisco residents and members.

Hidden Garden Steps Cleanup
The monthly Hidden Garden Steps volunteer cleanup takes place from 1pm to 3pm on 16th Avenue between Kirkham and Lawton. To maintain this staircase and garden, decorated with intricate mosaics and native plants, community members will sweep, plant, weed and perform “other routine maintenance as needed,” according to organizers.

No reservations are required, and tools and gloves will be provided to volunteers.

Farmers Market
From 9am to 1pm, the Inner Sunset Farmers Market operates out of the parking lot on 9th Avenue between Irving and Judah, so bring your bags and stock up on fresh vegetables and other locally-sourced goods like honey, olives and baked goods.

Peak citrus season is nearly over, but there’s still plenty of fruit available. Leafy greens are starting to come in, so get your fill of Brussels sprouts, lettuce and bok choy.

Lindy in the Park
Burn off your brunch at Lindy in the Park from 11am to 2pm near 8th Avenue & Fulton, right behind the deYoung Museum. Since 1996, swing dancers have been cutting a rug at this free outdoor public dance event, and you’re welcome to join them.

The free beginner’s lesson runs from noon to 12:30; no partner is required, but bring some sensible shoes.

Yuri Herrera Author Event
At 7:30pm, Green Apple Books on the Park is hosting a conversation with Yuri Herrera about “Signs Preceding the End of the World,” his debut novel.

According to a review in The New York Times, Herrera’s story about a Mexican woman who crosses the border into the US seeking her brother is a “perilous and sometimes dreamlike journey.” Herrera will be interviewed by author Daniel Alarcón in an event presented by the Center for the Art of Translation.

Whatever your weekend plans may be, here's to another few days of fun in the neighborhood.
