Between Easter, Passover, MLB opening day, the return of Mad Men, and a chance of rain in the forecast, there's plenty to celebrate this weekend. Here's some of what's going on in the neighborhood.

This morning, trek up to Alamo Square for the monthly park volunteer day. Meet by the tennis court at 9am, and help green-and-clean the park with your neighbors until noon. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.

At 11am, the 400 block of Haight will feature the return of the neighborhood sidewalk sale. La Sombra will be set up outside Wing Wings with juices and smoothies, while merchants and neighbors will be selling and swapping their wares. Bring your own goods to peddle, or just come down to sip and shop. The event is slated to run until 4pm.

In the afternoon, why not head to the Harvey Milk Photo Center and check out the just-opened Tame Iti, a collection of photos by Birgit Krippner? We profiled the show a few days ago, so you should be more than prepared. The Photo Center is open today from 10am to 5pm.

Tonight, it's the opening reception for a solo show by Hajime Sorayama at FIFTY24SF (218 Fillmore). Get the full details on the new show from our recent preview, then head to the gallery at 7pm to check out works from the renowned Japanese artist.

On Sunday morning, scoop up the kids, put on your finest pastel pants, and head down to Duboce Park for the annual Easter egg hunt, sponsored by First Christian Church. A whopping this-has-to-be-a-typo 1,500 eggs will be scattered throughout the upper lawn area of the park, and if past events are any guidance, they'll be gone in a jiffy. The fun starts at 9am — just email [email protected] with your kids' ages if you plan to attend, so they can plan.

And on Sunday night, you can likely catch the opening night of Major League Baseball at any of our local bars. One thing you won't be able to do Sunday night, however: dine at Memphis Minnie's. The restaurant will be closed for Easter.

No matter what you're celebrating this weekend, have a fun one.
