Your mid-May leftovers have arrived, with minor local news of food, booze, events and more.
This weekend, Memphis Minnie's (576 Haight St.) will be serving up something a little unusual: taquitos. The BBQ joint is offering two varieties, this weekend only — smoked chicken (rolled) or beef brisket (folded), served with tomatillo salsa and smoked pico de gallo.
You'll soon have more beverage options for washing down your panuchos and empanadas, as Emanuel Cafe (488 Haight St.) has applied for a license to serve beer and wine.
Tomorrow (Saturday) morning, it's the monthly volunteer day at Duboce Park. Meet in front of the Harvey Milk Recreation Center between 10am and noon, and help clean and green the park. Tools and gloves will be provided.
In important dessert news, you can now order slices of apple pie from Chili Pies at the Three Twins Ice Cream outpost at 254 Fillmore (thanks to Troy G. for the tip).
At 509 Haight St., most recently home to Sushi 509, Stone Bowl seems to be nearing an opening, as a new awning and an interior remodel have been revealed. Also, the official name of the probably-Korean restaurant now seems to be Stone Bowl Plus:

Have you noticed some new artwork on a newspaper box outside Haight Fillmore Whole Foods? At least one Twitterer has:

Sunset Tunnel track work will be suspended this weekend and next, so go ahead and ride that N-Judah to your heart's content. Work should resume the weekend of May 29th.
And finally, Sunday marks the return of Bay to Breakers. The race route travels along Hayes Street, so expect the usual spillover of exhausted runners from Alamo Square, and costumed stumblers roaming the neighborhood throughout the day. Happy weekend.
