McAllister Street residents near Divisadero will soon be getting a few new neighbors. An empty lot at 1631 McAllister (between Divisadero and Broderick streets) is being replaced by a four-story residential building.

Until 2013 the lot was owned by the Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, which is located across the street at 1660 McAllister. When the church's current building was being renovated to include a second congregation, the Pastor decided to sell off their empty property to help finance some of the construction (the church already has a parking garage upstairs from the chapel).

According to Redfin, the lot was listed for $899,000 on June 27th 2013, and sold for $1,038,000 a little over a month later, on July 31st.

The lot is 25' feet by 137.50' feet deep. Construction has already begun on a 6,527 square foot building in its place, which will contain four residences and four parking spots. There's no public information yet on whether these will be listed for sale as condos, nor for rent as apartments (and presumably given the small number of units there will be no BMR discounts). We'll update you as we hear more.
