Last month, we reported that Fillmore Street's long-running Squat & Gobble location was set to close within 60 days. That closure came quickly: the Lower Haight's Squat and Gobble permanently closed its doors after service on Saturday.

Squat & Gobble began as a creperie at 237 Fillmore St. nearly 22 years ago. The company has since opened four other locations in SF, including one in Upper Haight that split from the brand last year. The reasons behind the location's closure remain unclear, but the space likely won't stay vacant for long. As we previously reported, Iza Ramen—Blowfish Sushi's weekend pop-up venture—has filed to do business at the address.

No word yet on Iza Ramen's exact plans for the space, nor when neighbors can expect the ramen joint to open, so stay tuned for more updates on what's next for 237 Fillmore St.
