Thanks to a reader tip, we've learned that CheeSpud, a fast-food restaurant with a potato-centric menu, is looking for a buyer to take over its lease at 2154 Irving Street. According to a real estate listing, the restaurant's owner wants to pursue other interests.

Open since June, CheeSpud occupies 700 square feet and was recently renovated to comply with all current codes, the listing states. Located on the corner of Irving and 22nd Avenue, the shop has a rear kitchen with a commercial-quality ventilation hood and a cozy storefront with seating for 6 to 8 customers.

CheeSpud's chief offerings are, as you would imagine, potato-focused, and include croquettes, french fries and crusted whole potatoes; customers choose from a variety of toppings to create combos like Beefy Beefy (sausage, steak, sausage, bacon bits) and Ocean Bliss (crab, shrimp and scallops with bonito flakes and seaweed). Although the restaurant's Yelp page offers enthusiastic testimonials, several patrons took issue with the food's aesthetic presentation and freshness of ingredients.

The asking price in the listing is $168,000; the property currently has 5.5 years left on a 6-year lease. Interestingly, the "For Sale" listing does not include the business' name or address, and interested buyers are asked to sign an NDA if they want to learn its location.
