Pedestrian Safety
Earlier this month, we reported that District 6 Supervisor Jane Kim launched a new education campaign urging city drivers to slow down while driving through SoMa and the Tenderloin. Now, it looks like the San Francisco Police Department is assessing pedestrian and bicycle safety issues citywide. Last week, the department released a survey asking residents about their primary modes of transportation, collision history, and perceptions of pedestrian and bicycle safety in San Francisco. Limited details released with the 11-question survey state that the results will help the department improve its traffic safety efforts.
