Got an event you want the neighborhood to know about? To be included in our next Tenderloin weekly roundup, please fill out the form at this link by Tuesday evening.

A beautiful Friday is here, and that means a beautiful weekend is just about to begin. But before you sign off for the weekend, here's what you may have missed over the course of the week—and won't want to miss this weekend.

First of all, 4 Corner Fridays is this afternoon. From 3 to 4:30pm, nonprofits, businesses, and residents of all ages will take over four corners at the intersections of Turk and Leavenworth, Jones and Leavenworth, and Golden Gate and Hyde, offering fun and games, music and dancing and much more.

Michael Anderer, vice president for mission advancement at De Marillac Academy, tell us that while the monthly events are aimed at building community and curbing open-air illegal activities on these blocks, the festivities are open to anyone and everyone in the community. Here's a glimpse of what you'll find out there:

With The Hall's first-year anniversary celebration going down this evening, we checked in with the developers to hear about their community-building efforts in the temporary dining hall, and their plans for the project after 1028 Market St. gets turned into a new mixed-use building.

Earlier this week, Central City Extra reported that police arrested and charged a man suspected of attacking and critically injuring the paper's longtime reporter and distributor, Mark Hedin. Hedin was clubbed from behind by the fellow motorist after a verbal dispute about a tapped bumper.

The Chronicle stopped by Yemen Kitchen (219 Jones St.) for a taste of the new restaurant's traditional Yemeni fare, and learned more about the home away from home for expats.

And looking forward to next week, the Cadillac Hotel is hosting a benefit concert on Saturday, Nov. 14th to raise funds for necessary and costly electrical upgrades that are threatening the longstanding SRO's ability to keep the doors open.

Now that you're all caught up, here's a few more events on tap this weekend:

Friday

4 Corner Fridays
Turk & Leavenworth, Golden Gate & Hyde, Leavenworth & Jones
3-4:30pm
Host Description: "Join us Friday afternoon from 3:00-4:30 pm on the corners of Turk & Leavenworth, Golden Gate & Hyde, and Leavenworth & Jones to have fun, build community and take pride and ownership in our shared neighborhood space!"

The Hall Turns One
The Hall, 1028 Market St.
4-8pm
Host Description: "The Hall turns one this month, which means we are approximately halfway through our stint as a temporary activation before the permanent development breaks ground. We want to celebrate with you, the community that has made this possible. Join us for an afternoon of fun, games, music, kids' activities (balloon animals!) and more. Plus, we'll be unveiling the building design for the permanent development, and want your feedback!"

In The Valley Below w/ Handsome Ghost, We Became Owls
Great American Music Hall, 859 O'Farrell St.
8pm
Host Description: "
In The Valley Below (Angela Gail and Jeffrey Jacob) meld adventurous art rock, squelchy synth pop, harmony-laden Americana, and woozy blues into something altogether different: stylistically elusive, yet oddly inclusive. Her loaded purr cajoling his weathered inflections, they craft gauzily compelling music at once introverted and all-embracing."

Hocket: Four Hands
Center for New Music, 55 Taylor St.
8pm
Host Description: "Hocket is a cutting-edge piano duo based in Los Angeles. Brought together by their passion for sharing exciting and eclectic chamber music with the world, members Sarah Gibson and Thomas Kotcheff are both pianist-composers dedicated to commissioning and performing contemporary music."

Battle For the Underground
The Basement, 222 Hyde St.
8pm
Host Description: "Battle For the Underground is the past, present and future of house music. At its realest, at its roots, at its roughest and most raw ritualistic nature."

Studio 144
PianoFight, 144 Taylor St.
7pm
Host Description: "Join the PianoFight Creative Company as we welcome acts from past and present to form a monumental evening of funny. PianoFight’s physical structure at 144 Taylor may be less than a year old, but PianoFight as a creative company has been producing 'new work by new artists' since 2007. PF has made a name for themselves on shows that feature a heavy dose of audience participation and a party atmosphere that lingers on long after the show."

Saturday

The Pentatonics, five Orff teachers/jazz musicians, will get the kids singing, swinging, dancing and playing on specially designed Orff instruments. We start in the kids' world, with simple chants, songs and children's games, and step by step, they're playing jazz! And parents can play too!"

Empyrean Ensemble: Newly Written, Here & There
Center for New Music, 55 Taylor St.
7:30pm

Million Dollar Question
PianoFight, 144 Taylor St.
7pm
Host Description: "Million Dollar Question is a dance theater show in which modern dance explores itself. The night features four dance pieces set exclusively to spoken word, ranging from comedic—one piece, entitled Intermission, casts the dancers as theatergoers waiting in a never ending line for the bathroom— to personal and poignant, as in the titular piece, which explores the difficulty every artist faces trying to sum up their craft to a stranger."

The Setup: Standup Comedy
The Basement, 222 Hyde St.
8pm
Host Description: "We feature established comedians from around the country as well as local up-and-coming stars. San Francisco is known for indulging and incubating the absurd whims, oddities, and genius of the freaks who call it home. Think Lenny Bruce, Robin Williams, and Margaret Cho. In this crazy spirit, The Setup provides a truly unique and memorable San Francisco comedy experience."

Sunday

Main Public Library, 100 Larkin St.
1pm
Host Description: "Advances in biotechnology are enabling us to manipulate the genetic material of plants and animals, including humans. Just because we have the capability, does it mean it should be done? What are the advantages, disadvantages, and far-ranging consequences of genetic manipulation?
