Got an event you want the neighborhood to know about? To be included in our next Tenderloin weekly roundup, please fill out the form at this link by Tuesday evening.
Before heading into weekend mode, here are a few highlights from the week that was and the week to come.
Yesterday afternoon, more than 200 CCSF faculty members and students rallied against anticipated cuts to the ailing community college's programs.
In honor of Veterans Day, we stopped by St. Anthony's Suits for Service event to chat with former servicemen as they received free head-to-toe makeovers and career-building services.
Earlier this week, Central City Extra reminisced on the joy that Sunset Piano brought to Boeddeker Park. And we dropped by Hyde Street Studios to learn all about the recording studio's 45-year history working with legendary rock 'n rollers.
Looking ahead to next week, job hunters should take note: the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation is looking to fill 30 positions by the end of the year and is hosting a job fair at 10am Tuesday, Nov. 17th, to meet candidates.
Looking even further ahead, Elephant Sushi at Geary and Leavenworth is expected to open its doors on Dec. 1st.
As for this weekend, 12 musicians are set to perform at the Cadillac Hotel from 12-5pm this Saturday to help raise money for costly construction that's threatening the future of the long-standing SRO.
Finally, before we jump into even more events this weekend, keep in mind that detours are in effect on Van Ness Avenue between Pine and Ellis until 11:59pm this Sunday.
