The San Francisco Appeal reported this morning that an Uber-affiliated vehicle crashed into 1287 Howard St., the smaller commercial space in the three-story Victorian building that houses AsiaSF.
No one was injured during the collision, which occurred around 11am, and Uber has yet to confirm whether the driver was on duty at the time. As of this afternoon, crews were already patching up the damage to the ground floor.

While 1287 Howard appears to currently serve as an office or storage space, it does have a bit of colorful San Francisco history. The location was previously home to "Fey-Way Studios," a gallery of gay male art run by photographer Robert Opel—famous for streaking across the stage during the Academy Awards in 1974, while flashing a peace sign. Tragically, he was also murdered inside the gallery, during a robbery in July 1979.
